Cards travel upward in Napoleon Solitaire. The tableau sits low on the display, the stock in the middle, and the foundations high up, which is where every card must finally land.
Suit matters at every step. A card may join a foundation only when it is exactly one rank above the top card there and shares its suit. Inside the tableau, you can place a card on another that shares its suit and sits one rank higher. That narrow rule makes it a thoughtful, strategic puzzle, and you control everything with the mouse. You will learn the rules within a few hands.
