Question 1

What is a match-3 game?

Accepted Answer

You swap adjacent pieces to line up three or more of the same type. Matches clear those pieces, new ones fall in, and chains can score extra. Levels set a goal such as a score, a move limit or a timer.

Question 2

Is it luck or skill?

Accepted Answer

Both play a part. New pieces fall randomly, but you choose which swaps to make and when to use special pieces. Planning two moves ahead and scanning the whole board improves your results.

Question 3

Are they suitable for children?

Accepted Answer

Yes, mostly. The rules are simple, the graphics colourful and nothing is violent. Younger players may find timed levels stressful, so look for untimed or move-limited games to start with.
