This is mahjong connect rather than the classic solitaire kind. Squid Mahjong Connect lets you remove a pair of identical tiles whenever a line can join them, as long as that line bends no more than twice.
The board looks crowded at first, but each cleared pair opens new routes, so the order you work in matters. Look for tiles near the edges and for pairs that share a clear lane. The aim is to wipe the board and see how far through the levels you can climb. A mouse click on each tile is all it takes.
