Corridor after corridor looks the same, and somewhere in there is a way out. Backrooms Assault is a first-person shooter set in the eerie maze of the Backrooms, where hazmat-suited soldiers attack and your goal on each level is to locate the exit.

Progress rewards you with new weapons, which makes later levels more manageable. The shooting side comes with a full set of actions, including crouching, jumping, reloading and throwing grenades, so there is some room for tactics. It is a single-player 3D game that loads in your browser, best enjoyed with a keyboard and mouse.

How to play Backrooms Assault

1. Move with W, A, S and D, and press Space to jump.
2. Shoot with the left mouse button and aim with the right.
3. Press R to reload, G to throw a grenade and C to crouch.
4. Press F to use things you find.
5. Reach the exit of every level to unlock new weapons.

Tips for Backrooms Assault

• Crouch with C when you need steadier aim. Staying low can help in a tight corridor firefight.
